Literary Criticism: Tools for Citing & Organizing My Sources

This guide is meant to help you with any assignment involving the the critiquing of literature.

The Library provides you access to two tools known as "bibliographic managers" that can help you cite and store your sources and will also generate a works cited list for you in any of a number of citation styles. All you need to do is set up an account by entering a user name and password. Then any time or anywhere you want use the manager or access your citations all you need to do is click on the respective link from within the Library's Website. The names of these tools are EasyBib and RefWorks. Links for both tools are on the Library's citation page under the heading Citation Toolshttp://library.laguardia.edu/research/cite

Of the two, EasyBib (as the name kind of implies) is probably easier to use. RefWorks can be a bit daunting, is used quite often by scholars, and is available across CUNY.

Got some time on your hands? Create an account in both and test drive them to see which one your prefer -- REMEMBER, they're free to use courtesy of the Library!

ARE YOU OFF-CAMPUS? If so you'll need your log-in credentials (the same ones you use to log-in to computers in the on-campus labs: User = FIRSTNAME.LASTNAME Paswword = CUNY First EmplID# + last two digits of year of birth CLICK HERE FOR INFO.
