About 500 Words of April

Computer with 500 Words of April on the screen

Novelist Jami Attenberg invented 1000 words of summer, where people commit to writing 1000 words a day, every day, for two weeks. You can read more about it on her Substack.

One thousand words is a lot. Especially during the semester. So why not try 500 words a day? And you're not alone. The library is here to support you with books, in-person events, virtual events, and giveaways. Spend 500 words on your creative projects. Or anything that interests you. Not forever. Just for some of April.

And then present it at the English Department Read-a-Thon May 7!
