Information and Policies

Purpose and Use
  • The Collaborative Group Study and Presentation rooms are intended to provide students with a quiet place to work and study in an environment that encourages ideas and the acquisition of knowledge. The study space combines 1080p displays and wireless share switching technology.
  • Use of the the rooms MUST BE RESERVED by either filling-in the online reservation request form or by going to the Media Services Help Desk located on the 2nd floor of the Library Media Resources Center.
  • The rooms are available for use when the Library Media Resources Center is open. SEE the schedule of Library Hours in the left column.
Policies
NOTE: Failure to adhere to the following policies may result in revocation of your privileges to reserve/use the group study rooms.
1. Group Study and Presentation Practice Rooms are for use by current LaGuardia Community College students. A group is defined as two or more students. Maximum of six students.
2. Students may request use of a group study/presentation practice room on a walk-up basis only if the room has no active reservation. The walk-up users must vacate the room when requested by a group with proof of reservation.
3. These rooms are intended only for collaborative study and/or presentation practice; they are not for meetings, classes, socializing or other non-study uses.
4. Group Study and Presentation Practice Rooms are available for reservation only during times when the Library location is open.
5. Reservations can be made up to 2 weeks in advance.
6. No food or beverages allowed in the rooms.
7. Proof of registration is required. Please print or have electronic access to your room reservation confirmation email. Be prepared to show proof of registration at any time during your reserved time slot.
8. A group that is 15 minutes late forfeits their reservation.
9. Please respect your fellow students; keep noise to a minimum.
10. Reservation slots are in 30 minute increments and are limited to a two hour time period.
